Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Haridwar to Govindghat / Joshimath
Meet at the Haridwar Railway Station to begin an exciting drive uphill towards Govindghat. Along the way, witness the breathtaking confluence at Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet to form the mighty River Ganges.
Arrive at Joshimath with the option to stay there or continue to Govindghat, depending on accommodation availability. For those staying in Haridwar before departure, hotels near the holy Ganga River or near Haridwar Temple offer a restful stay.
Ganga Aarti in Haridwar
As evening falls, the banks of the holy Ganges come alive with blazing flames and melodic chanting during the captivating Ganga Aarti. Priests dressed in colorful garments perform coordinated motions with oil lamps, incense, and flowers, all to the accompaniment of passionate hymns — honoring the divine river Ganges, or "Ganga Mata" as she is lovingly called. This profoundly spiritual ritual of appreciation and devotion is an experience that stays with you forever.
Day 2 — Govindghat to Ghangaria (13 km Trek)
After an early-morning breakfast, drive from Joshimath to Govindghat or Pulna Village. Begin the 13-kilometer trek from Govindghat/Pulna to Ghangaria, the gateway village to the Valley of Flowers. The trail follows the Lakshman Ganga river through beautiful Himalayan terrain. Overnight stay at Ghangaria.
Day 3 — Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and Back
Prepare a hearty breakfast for the trek to the Valley of Flowers (at an altitude of 3,858 meters). Spend the day discovering the vibrant alpine flowers, colorful bushes, rare herbs, birds, and wildlife that make this UNESCO World Heritage Site a botanical wonderland.
Exploring the Enchanting Valley of Flowers
Ghangaria, a tranquil village accessible only by foot, serves as the gateway to the renowned Valley of Flowers. The valley is a botanical paradise, bursting with thousands of colorful alpine flowers every summer. Trekking through this wonderland reveals breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush greenery, and cascading waterfalls — pristine surroundings that make for unforgettable adventures.
After taking in the splendor of nature, begin your trek back to Ghangaria. Overnight stay at Ghangaria.
Day 4 — Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and Back
Begin the 6-kilometer (one-way) trek to Hemkund Sahib — a challenging but deeply rewarding hike. Along the route, cross numerous streams and waterfalls that add to the trail's beauty.
- Swim in the sacred Hemkund Sahib Lake
- Visit the historic Laxman Temple
- Pay respects at the Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib
Explore the surrounding area if time permits, then return on foot to Ghangaria. Overnight stay at Ghangaria.
Day 5 — Ghangaria to Govindghat to Badrinath
Rise early for the 13 km descent trek back to Govindghat (approximately 4.5 hours). From Govindghat, take a ride to Badrinath and Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Tibetan border.

Day 6 — Badrinath to Haridwar (Departure)
Rise early and take a dip in the hot water kund if you wish, then visit the sacred Badrinath Temple for morning darshan. After breakfast, depart for Haridwar. Our trek services end at Govindghat/Joshimath and the trip concludes at Haridwar, where you depart with a lifetime of cherished memories.
